In this episode, I interview my dear friend, and Co-Founding & Managing Partner at Smart Wellness Associates, Dr. Barbara J. Ryan, who left a thriving practice and career in the medical field to pursue the gift of time without sacrificing financial freedom. Dr. Ryan’s co-founding of Smart Wellness Associates, a marketing and training platform that seeks to educate people about health and wellness and to help others start and run their own businesses, enabled her to create the balance of income and time freedom she was desperately seeking. Dr. Ryan’s passion for science and people have guided her journey from earning her medical degree at the Mayo Clinic, to her enlistment in the United States Navy where she served as both a general surgeon caring for patients stateside, and as a trauma surgeon during three tours to Afghanistan and Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, to establishing her own practice as a plastic surgeon and now as she uses her gifts to guide others and speak into their strengths and gifting’s as they begin to establish a belief in themselves once again.
