Manifest Your Dreams with The Help of The Universe

Inspired by this week’s Moms Making Six Figures Podcast featuring Bree Western who believes in the power of our thoughts, and how they influence our actions, ultimately leading to us manifesting our dreams and the universe conspiring on our behalf.  Rather than staying stuck in the darkest place, Bree believes you’ve got to dig yourself out of there, even if you begin with simply reaching for the next better thought.

The idea of manifestation seems to be the latest self-help, personal growth, and motivational buzz worthy trend, but the reality is that its existence has truly been ever present.  Merriam-Webster defines manifestation as the act or process of making something evident.  So, when it comes to manifesting something, you are simply aligning your thoughts, which then determine your actions, to bring to your physical reality that ‘something’ by focusing on achieving and procuring it.  When you think it, and believe in it, you begin to attract whatever ‘it’ is for you and your life.  But why is #manifestation trending now when the idea first presented itself to the mainstream through Paulo Coelho’s spiritual novel, The Alchemist?  Perhaps it has to do with existing in the midst of uncertainty, and the need to rely on our faith –in ourselves and a higher power (God, The Universe, etc.)—to regain our footing and find our purpose in a directionless and divisive world.  How do we get the universe to conspire on our behalf, to manifest our dreams, and pursue our life’s purpose?

“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”

–Paulo Coelho

Oprah, a firm believer in the power of manifestation cautions that manifestation “requires you to take proactive steps towards whatever it is that you desire—so you shouldn’t expect it to happen instantly or overnight while you sleep.”  So where do we begin, if it isn’t as easy as hitting the snooze button or hitting the sheets an hour earlier?

Know What ‘It’ Is

According to Angelina Lombardo, author of A Spiritual Entrepreneur, it is essential that you clearly define what exactly it is you want to manifest, “You are the only one who dreams your dreams, so whether it’s a new partner and a healthy relationship or a better job, know it and own it.”

Once you determine your intention, get very specific.  If you can’t visualize it becoming a reality, you can’t make it a reality. Identify all of the components that come along with what you desire.  So, as Spirit Junkie author, Gabrielle Bernstein, sees it, your clarity through specificity looks something like “getting clear about the job you want, [and] making a list of all the things about the job that you happy: the office, the people, the salary, etc.”.  Most importantly is that you clearly determine how you want to feel so that you can tap into that feeling to manifest your dream.

Attract ‘It’

In order to attract your ‘it’, you must ask for what you want consistently, precisely, and in a variety of ways.  This may be in the form or prayer or meditation, through speaking your intentions out loud, or creating a vision board.  One way to focus your intention is to utilize the 369 method taking TikTok by storm: right down what you want 3 times in the morning, 6 times in the afternoon, and 9 times at night for 33 days.

Of course, you could also write both your short and long term goals, practice breathing and meditation, utilize a gratitude journal daily, and seek accountability to yourself, those who are a part of your tribe, and yes -even strangers on the internet-to act toward accomplishing, and therefore manifesting, your goal.

See ‘It’

Everyone who believes in the power of manifestation agrees on the point that visualization is essential to bringing your dream to reality.  In order to feel it, and believe it, you must picture yourself as already having achieved or procured whatever ‘it’ is.

“To be ‘in action’ when manifesting is to ask yourself the question, ‘What would my future self be thinking?’” Lombardo says. “’Being’ the person who already has, does, and feels your goals, dreams and desires helps you become that person.”

Surround ‘It’ with Good Vibes

Nothing positive can be born from a place of stress, anger, or resentment.  Instead, some of the best aspects of life are born out of our struggles because of our resiliency and positivity in the face of darkness.  Similarly, in order to manifest and attract our ‘next best’ we must surround what we’re manifesting with positivity.

One area that many people struggle with when it comes to manifestation is money and finances.  Mindvalley, an educational platform committed to “helping individuals lead extraordinary, fulfilling and happy lives”, attributes this struggle to beliefs of scarcity and unworthiness.  When these ‘belief roadblocks‘ exist, it is essential to reflect on the origin of these beliefs and reframe our thinking in order to manifest our goals.

If you’ve been struggling to find your next best, feeling altogether directionless or overwhelmed by the world’s divisiveness, take back the control through belief in yourself and a higher power, and manifest a dream to begin pursuing progress and reaching for the next better thought, “When you feel it, you live it –regardless of what is happening on the outside.  In time, the universe catches up with your energy and your desires come into form.  This process of allowing the manifestation to follow your internal faith is the true process of co-creation.”
